Chances are if you go to a social media site, you will see some sort of meme or post that is a direct reflection of hatred. And if you turn on your television you will more than likely hear about terrorism riots, bullying, or once again HATRED!
We hear presidential candidate after candidate talk badly about one another and we hear not only them but other citizens BULLY our own president of the United States Of America. Our commander in chief is literally being bullied by those who he is trying to protect and take care of. (I am in no way expressing whether i am an Obama supporter or not, nor am i trying to persuade you to be one, i am just simply making points....so calm down ;)) We hear of mass shootings in workplaces and in our own schools!! The schools we send our OWN children too every single day! We see women (and men) being bullied for how they look, how they dress, how successful they are. We have religions being bashed and isolated and judged because a FEW people who share their same religion committed an awful act of terrorism. We have a racial war going on every single day!!
Every single thing i just named off is some act of hate.....
I have a few questions for you....
Where did all this hatred come from?
Why must we live in a world where so much hatred exists?
When does this all end?
I dont know about you, but i am terrified sometimes about the world that not only i live in but the world that i am raising my children in. I pray that my children get to grow up and live life in a world where they arent judged for their race, religion, gender, political standpoint, etc etc. We are all different and we all have different views.
Why cant we just accept that as a fact?
I think its a beautiful thing that none of us are alike whether its a physical , religious, or political. But we have to STOP judging and bullying one another!
Could you imagine what kind of world we would live in if we all changed our mindsets?
What if we took everything negative and turned it into a positive?
What if we accepted and treated every single person we met with respect and kindness?
What if we took those fancy materialistic things we feel we HAVE TO HAVE to keep up with this society and used that money to help a family in need?
Ellen DeGeneres is probably one of my favorite celebrities, why? Because, she is such strong, positive beautiful woman inside and out. Perhaps you know her slogan already but its one i strive to live by everyday...that is... "Be kind to one another!"
What if we accepted the fact that not all whites are racist, not all African Americans are criminals, not all Muslims are terrorists, not all Christians are bible thumping know it alls, not all gay people are sick in the head, not all mentally ill people are crazy, not all women are a size 0, not all men have 6 pack abs, and not everyone on welfare is a lazy?
Once we as individuals learn to accept the fact we are all different and have different opinions and viewpoints, we can then do our part to help turn this cruel, hatelful, negative world around us.
Rememeber, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step." So, pick something right now that you see as a negative and make yourself find the positive in it!!!
Maybe this post just rambled on and on and on and makes zero sense to some people, but as a person who is trying to better myself physically, mentally and spiritually every day i needed to express myself in some ramble-some way!
I hope you all find something to smile about today, and remember, "Be kind to one another!"
